Dr Yamini Bachheti

Care that reaches beyond the clinic

Yamini treats cancer patients with radiation and chemotherapy and has worked in tertiary care centres and institutions of national importance. She also serves as a director across healthcare, education, agriculture and multimedia. Her community work includes rural schools, scholarships, support for national-level sporting competitions, affordable dialysis and healthcare in remote hill areas of Uttarakhand.

Himanshu Chauhan

Airline Pilot

From fighter cockpit to flight deck

After graduating from Hindu College, University of Delhi, Himanshu pursued a career in aviation. In his KYJ profile, he describes 31 years in military aviation followed by a year in civil aviation. Discipline, precision and a love of flying connect those chapters. Representing SJA in sports taught him teamwork, resilience and camaraderie.

Dr Sumeet Walia

Scientist, Inventor & Research Leader

Ideas that move beyond the laboratory

Sumeet works at the intersection of advanced materials and nano-devices, leading research that translates discoveries into technology for healthcare, clean energy and intelligent systems. His profile records more than 200 scientific publications, global patents and chief editorship of two books. After electronics engineering and a PhD in electronic materials, he became a professor and research leader. Recognitions listed in his profile include MIT Technology Review’s Innovators Under 35 (Asia Pacific), the Australian Museum Eureka Prize for Science Leadership and the 40 Under 40 Most Influential Asian-Australians list. He also champions diversity and inclusion in STEM.

Sahil Sarin

Indian Air Force Fighter & Test Pilot

A childhood dream takes flight

Standing before the Hunter fighter aircraft in SJA’s assembly area helped inspire Sahil to join the Indian Air Force. He entered the National Defence Academy after school and was commissioned into the IAF Flying Branch in 2011. He flew the Su-30 and qualified as a Test Pilot in 2021. His profile describes work testing new platforms and integrating advanced systems, and credits school with lasting friendships and a clear sense of purpose.
